Artist Medikal, real name Samuel Adu Frimpong, has disclosed how his ex-fiancee Sister Deborah was taken aback when he phoned her for the first time after their split.
Sister Deborah appears on Medikal’s newest tune, Cold and Trophies.
Many Ghanaians were taken aback by the inclusion, as they did not anticipate the two ex-lovers to collaborate on a song after their romance ended in the terrible way possible.
Nevertheless, in an interview with Accra-based Kingdom FM, Medikal said that before recording the song, he had no idea who he wanted to sing it with.
But, during recording, he thought Sister Deborah’s vibe was required on the song, so he decided to include her.
When asked whether it was difficult to get her to feature he said: “I’m not at loggerheads with her. We dated and things did not work out but that does not mean we have problems. When I called her for the first time after a long while, she was shocked I called. She then asked for the song, listened to it and sent her verse over to me”.
Medikal was asked whether his wife had a problem with him filming with his ex
“my wife was cool with the decision. It’s business and therefore we need to treat things without emotions, she was cool,” he said
