Nana Appiah Mensah’s Mezgold was a Ghanaian gold dealership and investment firm that promised customers an average of 7-10 percent monthly returns on investments. It was shut down in 2018 by the SEC.
The Bank of Ghana backing SEC’s action said the company’s operations were illegal because “they were more or less taking deposits which we disagreed with and they have also had issues with the SEC”.
Ever since its closure, customers have been crying for their locked-up investments to be paid to them but the company has not been able to do so despite making promises.
