“my former manager Ogidi Brown took all the money I made in music and didn’t give me a pesewa”- Fameye

Fameye, the VGMA award-winning musician, has spoken out about how he was mistreated while contracted to OGB Music, which is owned and managed by Ogidi Brown.

Fameye’s first single, which propelled him to national prominence, was released under this label, but the singer claims he never received a penny from it.

In an interview, the singer revealed that despite having a 360 agreement worth 2.5 million cedis, he did not make a dollar from working under the label, despite Ogidi Brown accusing him of owing him money.

Fameye did not deny that the label paid for his music videos, recording, and other expenses, but he insisted that he never saw the money generated by his songs on streaming platforms and that he did not benefit from the events he performed under the label.

“All I can say is that I’m delighted I was able to pay.” All of my tunes are still in his possession. He reaps the benefits of my music streams.”

He added on TV3’s New Day Show that Ogidi Brown thought he was doing him a favor by signing him to his label, but that’s not how business works, and that the deal will benefit both parties.

As things stand, the songs Fameye recorded for the label are still making money, but he isn’t getting any of it.

“Talent is worth money, and the record company is bringing cash to the table. As a result, we’re both expected to conduct business. We, on the other hand, make it appear as if record companies or managers are aiding artists when the artists themselves have nothing to give. They’re bringing in a lot of talent and a lot of energy.”

Fameye, on the other hand, acknowledged the label’s part in propelling his career forward.

“I can’t think of anything else to do besides music. I’ll never stop making music even if no one ever listens to it.”
