According to accounts, a university graduate committed suicide after failing one of her course assignments.
After consuming a deadly chemical, the victim, Oshokoya Deborah Ayomikun of the Tai Solarin University of Education (TUSED) in Nigeria, died.
Several Nigerian news portals said that she committed suicide due to the possibility of an extra year due to a carryover in one of her final year courses.
On Wednesday, August 11, TASUED SUG President Comr. Rabiu Sodiq verified the occurrence and advised students against taking such severe measures regardless of the outcome of their school examinations or other difficult life circumstances.
“It’s reasonable when life throws us a lot of challenges. We can become disheartened, frustrated, and dissatisfied at times. The truth is that life’s difficulties are unavoidable, and because every problem has a solution, this, too, will pass. “Please don’t die,” he wrote.
“If you start thinking about suicide, cancel the expedition! Suicide not only puts an end to your dreams, but it also puts an end to the dreams of those who are close to you. He went on to say, “Say No To Suicide.”
