Mensah Sarpong accuses Gospel singer Kwaku Gyasi and his wife of cheating after they denied him money from MTN deal
John Mensah Sarpong, a Ghanaian record producer, has called gospel artist Kwaku Gyasi a cheat and stated that he will not deal with him again until he divorces his wife.
Kwaku Gyasi’s wife, according to the owner of JMS Records, orchestrated the incident that soured his relationship with the gifted gospel singer.
In an interview with Onua FM, an enraged John Mensah accused Kwaku Gyasi’s wife of orchestrating their split at a time when everything between them was going swimmingly.
“We had been working effectively, efficiently, and profitably together for years before Kwaku Gyasi got married. Things between Kwaku Gyasi and I began to deteriorate shortly after our marriage. So there is no doubt that the wife is to blame.
“As long as Kwaku Gyasi is married to the wife. I’m not going to be able to work with him,” he added.
John Mensah claimed in the same interview that he decided to leave Kwaku Gyasi after he grabbed all of the MTN ambassadorial money for his track Nyame Aseda.
According to him, he and Kwaku Gyasi agreed to a production split of 30% for Him and 70% for Kwaku Gyasi on all programs. Using his (John Mensah)production single Nyame Aseda, the gospel musician was then appointed as MTN’s ambassador. He expected him to adhere to the conditions of the contract. On the other side, Mr Gyasi refused to give him his portion.
“I was enraged by Kwaku Gyasi’s behaviour because the musician did not follow through on the agreed-upon percentages of 30% and 70%. Mr Gyasi deviously pocketed the entire MTN deal’s proceeds.”
