“Members of the Anglican Church who do not have a voter’s ID card will not be able to receive Holy Communion” – Anglican bishop.
Rt. Rev. Justus Mogekwe, the Anglican Bishop of Asaba Diocese, has stated that PVCs will now be required for members of his church before they may receive Holy Communion.
He stated this in a sermon delivered on Sunday at the Christian Community Platform prayer gathering held at Great Anointing Favour Bible Church International in Effurun.
He urged Delta residents to register for their PVCs in order to vote in an election and ensure good governance.
Mogekwe, on the other hand, asked other Delta State pastors to make it essential for their parishioners to acquire PVC before receiving Holy Communion in the future.
He underlined the importance of Christians actively participating in politics in order to enthrone good governance.
“If men who are righteous and fear God are in charge,” he continues, “the people rejoice.”
