In Ghana, Kings and Queen Mothers rule over specific communities. However, one of Ghana’s communities has appointed a sixteen-year-old teenager as Queen Mother to rule over them.
Obaahemaa Yaa Manu I is Ghana’s youngest queen mother. She is the queen mother of Adum Banso, a small village in Ghana’s Ashanti Region.
She is only sixteen years old. She was a student at Yaa Asantewaa Girls Senior High School, but due to her Chieftancy, she had to discontinue her studies in order to take on that prestigious position in her family.
This afternoon, she was enstooled at Adum Banso’s Queen Mother. She is said to be Ghana’s youngest queen mother.
