The finest fit for his song, according to Ghanaian rapper Medikal, was his ex-girlfriend Sister Deborah, whom he approached for a feature.
He continued by saying that neither he nor his wife, Fella Makafui, experienced any troubles with the feature or their marriage, contrary to popular belief.
According to Medikal, when the song was being recorded, he realized that Sister Deborah’s line was the best melody and feature that would make the song “Cold and Trophy” a hit song.
In describing the sequence of events that led to him including Sister Deborah on Kingdom FM, Medikal said that even if they are ex-lovers, he finds nothing wrong with having her on a song because they are not rivals.
