“Marriage Is Not A Do Or Die, Leave When You Are Being Abused” – Peter Okoye advises ladies

Peter Okoye, a singer from Nigeria, has issued an advisory to people not to stay in marriages that may result in their deaths. He made this statement after the passing of Bimbo Ogbonna, who was married to a Nigerian car dealer, IVD.

Bimbo Ogbonna’s passing was announced by her sister (mama Jazz) in a series of Instagram posts on Saturday. In one of the posts, Jazz accused the Lagos-based businessman of killing his own wife.

Reacting to the reports of the woman’s death from domestic violence, Peter Okyere has pointed out to both men and women that getting married and actually being married are two entirely different things.

He went on to argue that people should end marriages that are not successful by separating from their partners.

He said in a letter, “Do not remain in any marriage that may lead to death!” Getting married and staying married are two different things! If it’s not working, walk away! … PERIOD! “
