Man tries to k!ll himself hours after chopping his wife to deᾶth
A cruel husband accused of murdering his wife and fleeing was hospitalized after attempting suicide.
Moses Tenywa, 48, of Soweto village, Jinja City South division, allegedly pierced his wife of six children Annette Nabirye in the neck. He later tried in vain to bury her dead body.
Tenywa, who fled the scene on Friday, was apprehended by police on Saturday afternoon in Buyengo town council, Jinja district, with a bottle of poison. He allegedly drank poison and locked himself in a room to die.
Unaware of Tenywa’s crime, his host called the cops, leading to Tenywa’s arrest. The host told police he believed tenure had been banished from the house after a fight with his wife.
After being treated at Jinja Regional Referral Hospital, Tenywa will be taken to Jinja Central Police Station for further questioning.
James Mubi, the Kiira Region police spokesperson, says three officers have been deployed to keep an eye on the suspect.
