Mr. Favour Ibex, the fiancé and manager of Nigerian gospel singer Amaka Gift, said she left him for another man.
On Monday, August 28, 2023, Favor revealed on Facebook that she deceived him after he supposedly supported and invested in her music career.
He met Amaka nine years ago and dated her for three years before introducing her to music in 2017. He produced her songs, managed her social media, and promoted her music.
He said he was engaged to Amaka and waiting for her to graduate from university before paying her bride price. He also said their religion prevented them from having sexual relations.
Trouble began when he introduced Amaka to gospel minister Maxy Michael for a song duet.
He alleged they shared films and photos of themselves in inappropriate poses, and Amaka refused to cease the ‘affair’ when he confronted her.
He said that Amaka tried to modify her social media passwords to exclude him, so he disabled her pages.

“Amaka Gift’s social media accounts were never hacked as she is “painting,” but they were taken down by her sponsor after she tried to change their passwords because the page is now making money. I took it down after nine years of trust, love, commitment, and investment betrayal.
I introduced Amaka Gift to music in 2017 through her local church choir after three years of dating.
I started and grew all my social media profiles.
I made every video and post on my pages. Spend money on newspapers, radio stations, CD printing, outfit branding, and concerts with billboards and posters. Charity work, paying for and setting up rehearsals to promote Amaka Gift.
As a girl with future ambitions, I prioritized her comfort. I furnished her apartment with the best furniture and equipment and built up a studio for her to do well in music and school without worry. She has lodgemates to confirm this.
I went with Amaka Gift to Maxy Michael for a song collaboration to expose her and win more souls for God through the now-booming gospel music page, but they went with a fake proposal prank video to stir up reactions and draw attention to the new songs they will release.
They refused to disprove the spoof video as early as planned. They started flirting and posting more romantic films with tenderness.
To keep her ministry sane, we agreed to keep our relationship discreet as Amaka Gift sponsors and fiancés. I always posed as her manager just to make our relationship public when we got married after her university graduation, but Amaka Gift betrayed me and flirted with Maxy Michael.
To safeguard her brand, I privately warned and talked to Amaka Gift about her romance with Maxy Michael for a month. Despite my suffering and disillusionment,
The second month, I complained to her family; she continued the third. I encouraged Maxy Michael to leave Amaka to focus on being a lady of God before them. Amaka Gift Mother also called Maxy Michael to tell him her daughter is in a relationship she benefits from and is not ready for another.
Our connection, is known to parents and close friends. Before our fathers died, Amaka Gift and I knelt and got blessings. Even on a hospital bed, Amaka Gift’s father asked the family not to let me have trouble paying her bride price because I’ve helped her in her career and arranged concerts and birthday parties for her.
Amaka Gift also wanted to exit the relationship as a saint who was single and sponsored herself. She wanted to depart and enjoy my years of work alone with a guy she met in a few weeks. She wanted to go when her struggle was paying off. She wanted to go because she loved me and had forgotten my blood and sweat for nine years.
