Popular Actress Maame Gyanwaa Speaks After Ghanaians Funded Her Eye Surgery
Actress Mavis Yeboah best known as Maame Gyanwaa has for the first time spoken after she successfully went through her eye correction surgery at the courtesy of SVTV Africa and some generous Ghanaians.
Speaking on the Daily Hustle show, the Kumawood actress who came to light through her role in the ‘Cow and Chicken’ TV series pointed out that she went for an eye injection and not surgery.
According to her, doctors say the eye injection will be done every month at a cost of about GH¢ 3,000.00.
Maame Gyanwaa recently revealed in an interview on Hot FM that she has been diagnosed with retinal artery occlusion in her left eye which has left her partially blind.
She disclosed that the doctor said she was at risk of it being transferred to the right eye which would have gotten her completely blind and needed funds for treatment.
She called on Ghanaians for help and she was not disappointed – some Ghanaians through SVTV Africa donated about 4,000gh to support her. Moreover, actor Kwaku Nkansah Lil Win also supported her with 1,000gh.
In the course of the latest interview, Maame Gyanwaa thanked SVTV Africa, Lil Win, and a host of Ghanaians for the support although her journey to gain back her vision is not yet complete.
