leaked audio of Bishop Dag Heward-Mills insulting Otumfuo Osei Tutu surfaces online
Bishop Dag Heward-Mills, the founder of the United Denominations Originating from the Lighthouse Group of Churches, has gotten himself into yet another squabble.
This time, he is said to have been recorded on camera harshly criticizing Otumfuo’s Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene.
On NET2 TV’s The Seat broadcast on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, a voice claiming to be that of Heward-Mills launched a scathing attack on Otumfuo.
He referred to the Asantehene’s rule as “useless,” arguing that his time as king had had no good impact on the Asante people.
A good king, he claims, leaves a positive legacy for his people, but all Otumfuo does is drive around in automobiles and throw costly anniversary parties and funerals.
“If the Otumfuo or whoever is in charge is the true king of the people, we will say this is what he did for the Asante people when he passes away, not that he ate more food, traveled to Europe, or had more wives and children.
“That is not the art of being a king…even two-year-olds have birthday parties and every day there is a celebration…one year, 40 days…that is all.”
He also warned individuals who compare the Asantehene to King Solomon of the Bible to be careful since the wealth King Solomon amassed for his family is incomparable.
Are you aware of what King Solomon constructed?
…Be extremely careful when giving someone a nickname like that…we are frequently the most useless types of kings that have ever lived.”- he added
