A man named Christian Kwame Amuzu, who used to be an Assembly Member in Nogokpo-Ativuta Electoral Area, has committed suicide. This has caused fear and panic among the people who live near Nogokpo in the Ketu South Municipality of the Volta Region.
Mr. Amuzu was found hanging on a rope in his living room on Wednesday, June 14, 2023. His wife, Madam Amuzu, said that he did not complain of any issues before the incident. She also said that it was his routine to drive their children to school each morning, but on the day he died, he declined and asked her to take the children instead.
The Agbozume Police command has started investigating the incident. The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Sacred Heart morgue at Abor.
Many people in the area are wondering if the recent stalemate between the chiefs and people of Nogokpo and Archbishop Charles Agyinasare could have anything to do with the mysterious demise of the former Assembly Member.
