Kwaku Bonsam advises Archbishop Agyinasare Over Nogokpo Issue
Nana Kwaku Bonsam, a renowned traditional priest, has advised Archbishop Agyinasare not to accept the invitation from the Nogokpo Traditional Council.
This is in response to the uproar that the Archbishop’s sermon about divine protection and the existence of evil forces caused, which included accusations against Nogokpo, a deity named after a town in the Volta Region.
Although the Chiefs and people of Nogokpo threatened to show their cosmic power if he fails to honor their invitation, Nana Kwaku Bonsam believes that there is no need for him to apologize or heed their invitation.
According to Nana Kwaku Bonsam, the Archbishop’s sermon was not intended to offend anyone, but rather to enlighten his congregation about the power of God over evil forces. He further stated that the Chiefs and people of Nogokpo should not take the sermon personally and that they should not resort to threats of violence to prove their point.
Instead, he urged them to seek peaceful means of resolving the issue and to respect the archbishop’s decision not to attend the invitation. Nana Kwaku Bonsam also called on all Ghanaians to respect each other’s beliefs and traditions.
