Kwabenya police gun-down assailant who st@bbed an Officer several times
On Friday, police shot and killed a Nigerian man who was causing havoc at Kwabenya Hills Police Station.
The Chronicle has learned that on January 21, 2022, Lydia Akpor reported a death threat against her Nigerian co-tenant Hakimu Friday.
On January 28, 2022, Hakimu threatened to kill three other Ghanaian and Nigerian co-tenants, Richlove Kwabena Ahiavor, Ikena Alorvi, and Peter.
Hakimu Friday stormed the station with a sharpened knife, threatening to kill anyone who confronted him.
Inspector Osei Yaw, the Station Officer, was stabbed several times in the head and the office furniture was damaged.
Still, on a killing spree, he attacked the investigator, repeatedly punched him in the face, and destroyed everything in his path.
Attempting to immobilize him, police fired and overpowered him.
At the Police Hospital, he was pronounced dead.
The injured officers were taken to the same hospital. The Kwabenya District Crime Officer responded to the scene.
