According to the Konongo District Police Command in the Ashanti region, five Konongo Odumase Senior High School students have been arrested in connection with the stabbing of a 15-year-old first-year student.
Larhan Sam’un was stabbed with a knife by a colleague on Friday, November 5, 2021, after attempting to resolve a disagreement between his mates.
According to preliminary police investigations, the leading suspect, 17-year-old Emmanuel Frimpong, was abusing some form-one students when he stabbed Larhan Sam’un to death in response to student resistance.
Five persons, including the primary suspect, have been arrested and detained to assist with the investigation, according to police.
“These five suspects, all of whom are in form two, joined together and decided to bully and assault some of the form one students.”
First-year students who felt the action was uncalled for resisted and were able to free one student from the clutches of these five offenders.
The five suspects were enraged by this move, and one of them, Emmanuel Frimpong, rushed on one of the first-year students in an effort to slap him.”
“Now Larhan Sam’un, who was nearby, came to a halt for Osei Frimpong. This incensed the primary suspect, who then drew a small kitchen knife from his pocket and stabbed the Larhan Sam’un in the lower left rib.
When the deceased began to bleed heavily, he was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police were able to apprehend all five individuals and retrieve the blood-stained little kitchen knife, according to DSP Osei Adu Agyemang, the District Police Commander for Konongo.
