Kojo Forex Sues Bongo Ideas 1 Billion for Defamation
Bright Kojo Onipayede, a Ghanaian forex trader, is suing Albert Nathaniel Hyde, also known as Bongo Ideas, for defamation. Kojo Forex claims that Bongo Ideas made statements about him on Twitter that damaged his reputation.
Kojo Forex is demanding 1 million Ghana cedis in compensation and a permanent injunction to stop Bongo Ideas from making any more defamatory statements about him. He also wants Bongo Ideas to apologize on social media and retract the defamatory tweets.
In April of this year, Bongo Ideas went on a Twitter rant about Kojo Forex. Among other things, Bongo Ideas alleged that Kojo Forex was involved in shady business and that his profits from forex trading did not come from his skills in the game. Kojo Forex denied these allegations and claimed that Bongo Ideas was attacking him because he refused to mentor him.
The social media banter between the two ended with a threat from Kojo Forex to take Bongo Ideas to court to prove the claims made against him. This has resulted in the current lawsuit.
Bongo Ideas is known for trolling celebrities on Twitter, including Nana Aba Anamoah, Serwaa Amihere, Asamoah Gyan, Shatta Wale, Fella Makafui, Black Sherif, and others.
