Gyedu-Blay Ambolley: Kofi Kinaata is the only artiste promoting the Ghanaian culture through music
Veteran Highlife musician Gyedu-Blay Ambolley has emphatically stated that among all musicians in Ghana, Kofi Kinaata is the only performer to be promoting the Ghanaian culture by doing authentic music which is highlife.
According to the veteran, the adoption of the foreign genres such as Dancehall, Hip – Hop into the music industry has led to the gradual collapse of the highlife genre which was the sole genre for the Ghanian music.
Ambolley, during an interview with Joy FM, said that the foreign genre is also affecting those who have stood out to do highlife as most highlife songs which are released nowadays don’t have any indigenous touch in them as it uses to be back in their days.
The ‘Simi Rapp‘ hitmaker was fast to add that Kofi Kinaata is the only artist doing pure highlife and he is the only artiste promoting the Ghanaian culture through music.
