Veteran actor Kofi Adjorlolo has confessed he once deceived Legendary Highlife artist Charles Kwadwo Fosu popularly known as Daddy Lumba during the days he worked as a Radio Presenter.
according to Kofi Adjorlolo, Daddy Lumba was an up and coming artist who was pushing hard for his song to be heard when he came to him to promote his then released “Yee Ye Aka Akwantuom”.
he boycotted the promotion and set off for London after taking money ‘Payola‘ from Daddy lumber because Lumba’s choice of genre was rare and he thought it would get him nowhere even if he promotes it.
“I remember my first payola was from Lumba when he released his first song ‘Yee Ye aka Akwantoum’… I will be honest here, although the money was huge in those times, I never played the song. It was because I wasn’t used to that kind of highlife style,” said Kofi Adjorlolo
8 months after his stay in London, he realized the song he ditched was the then trending in Ghana and many other artistes were adopting the said Genre. he later came back to ghana to throw in full support.
he revealed this in an interview with Pure FM on their entertainment program dubbed “Hammer Time” as he asked God to forgive him for such an act.
