Kevin-Prince Boateng advises GFA on what to do to attract big players to play for Ghana Black Stars.

Kevin-Prince Boateng, striker for the Black Stars, has outlined what Ghana needs to do to lure ‘great’ players of Ghanaian heritage to play for the Black Stars.

The Black Stars have lost their luster as the chosen team for several Ghanaians born overseas, as evidenced by Kevin Prince-Boateng and Otto Addo choosing Ghana over Germany.

Tariq Lamptey, Eddie Nketiah, Kelvin Yeboah, Inaki Williams, Callum Hudson-Odoi, and others have all rejected Ghana Football Association proposals to transfer allegiance and represent Ghana on the international stage.

All of the aforementioned players stated various reasons for their rejection to represent Ghana at the international level, with Inaki Williams declaring that he does not feel Ghanaian.

When asked in an interview what Ghana might do to attract these players, Kevin-Prince Boateng urged the GFA to make the team look appealing, claiming that doing so would save the FA the trouble of enticing players to play for the country.

You have to make the team attractive for the players to want to play for Ghana. Ghana is one of the biggest countries in football and they have produced some of the world’s best players and I can’t put my thoughts together on why they lost to Comoros,” he said.

“You have to make the players willing to come and play for their country and that comes with being successful and you can do that by winning games. You have to let them know that you have the big stage because every player wants a bigger platform,” he said in a Twitter space interview.
