Just In: Regional Minister Kwabena Okyere Darko allegedly Paid Ghc 3000 To Kidnappers for the Release Pregnant Woman

Many hoaxes are being advanced in connection with the reported kidnapping of Josephine Payin Mensah, making the situation even more complicated.

The Aide to Western Region Minister Justice Acquah has revealed that Kwabena Otchere Darko Mensah, in his attempt to get the truth out about the ‘kidnapped but found pregnant’ 28-year-old resident of Takoradi Josephine Panyin Mensah, paid GH3,000 to the alleged kidnappers in order to get the truth out about the case.

Mr. Acquah said in an interview with Takoradi-based Skyypowerfm that, despite the fact that the kidnappers initially sought GH500 and subsequently upped their demand to GH1,000, the regional minister opted to pay 3000 cedis out of the kindness of his heart.

He went on to say that the money had been given to the police, who would use it to pull the kidnappers out of their hiding place.

“While she was being kidnapped, the police were listening in on her phone.” She will turn on the phone and chat with her mother before turning it off again.”

Justice Acquah further stated that when Josephine was turned over to the police, she made two conflicting statements to them, which were recorded by the police.

“She had previously stated that the kidnappers had a midwife with them who assisted her in having a smooth delivery. Another assertion she made was that the kidnappers battled with her and that she lost the baby as a result of the fight.”

After claiming in an interview that Josephine was not pregnant, the Western Region Minister has been subjected to a torrent of criticism.

For his handling of the situation, celebrities such as Afia Schwarzenegger have urged for his immediate dismissal from the position.

” The regional minister serves as the organization’s chief executive. I have no doubt that the Western Region is his first priority, and I can guarantee without a shadow of a doubt that the regional minister will make every effort to ensure that happens at all times.”

However, neighbors of Columbia, a suburb of Takoradi, continue to maintain that Josephine was pregnant at the time of her death.
