Sammy Gyamfi: “Jean Mensa was changing election figures to favor NPP”
The NDC’s National Communicator, Sammy Gyamfi has accused the Jean Mensa led Electoral Commission (EC) of rigging the just ended 2020 general elections at the expense of the opposition NDC.
According to the outspoken communicator who was speaking at a press conference in Accra, the Electoral Commission has been changing figures of the election results to favor the incumbent NPP ever since the declaration on 9th December.
“On the night she [Jean Mensa] lied that even if we are to wait for the results of Techiman South and we assumed that candidate Mahama will get all the 128,000 votes, it will not affect the results,” Sammy Gyamfi told the media. “Independent people have done their analysis to show that what she said wasn’t true”.
He further stated that the EC after the December 10 rectification of the results, proceeded on December 15 to gazette the results, but “the dates on the Gazette conflicts and the figures have still been manipulated; they don’t add up”.
Sammy Gyamfi compared how the EC chairperson was changing the figures to a mother who was changing baby diapers. “So why is Jean Mensa changing election results like a mother would change the pampers of a three-year-old [child] because every minute the results change?” he quizzed.
