The tricycle rider accused of causing the accident in the fatal tragedy at Apiatse in the Prestea Huni Valley Municipality in the Western Region has offered a sorrowful story of how the event occurred. Since the news surfaced, the trike rider has been at the heart of the controversy, with many blaming him for the crash.
According to initial accounts, the tricycle crashed with the explosive vehicle, causing the entire calamity, but the rider believes otherwise. He divulged all the concealed information during a visit by the vice president and his entourage to the hospital where the rider is presently being treated.
He was spotted laying on a hospital bed with police officers guarding him as he was being held under arrest. Because he is accused of causing the accident, they are waiting for him to be treated so that the country’s laws may be applied to him.
The rider, whose identity is now unknown, stated that he was on the main road when another car collided with the rear of his tricycle. He goes on to say that he lost control and that the explosive truck was already near by before he noticed it.
