Popular Nigerian actress Ini Edo, just a few years after becoming a mother, has spoken up about her experience as a mother.
The mother-of-one came out in an interview with Lilian Afegbai, a fellow actress, that was published on Tuesday.
Edo believes that being a mother has taught her that she can love someone else more than herself. When asked how parenting has affected her, the actress said: “The fact that you can actually love somebody else more than yourself.”
“All of a sudden, somebody else is more important than yourself. I’m somebody who just really love myself and my space. But then, you realize that before you start to think about yourself, you wake up in the morning and you’re thinking of your child.”
Ini Edo added that she was now aware that she was accountable for another person’s life, “There’s a consciousness that comes with the fact that you’re responsible for somebody else’s life,”
In late 2021, Ini Edo sparked a sensation on social media by revealing that she had a baby through surrogacy.
It was also revealed that the 40-year-old actress had previously suffered from miscarriages, but she insisted that this did not impact her choice to become a surrogate mother.
