I’m not praising Alcoholism, releasing “Alcohol” song was My biggest step to Explore – Joeboy

Joeboy, born Akinfenwa Donus, is a popular Nigerian artist who has dived into his latest song, “Alcohol,” which has elicited a variety of comments on social media.

People used the singer’s latest popular tune for the TikTok Challenge, and the response was about them drinking and pouring all kinds of dangerous liquor on their bodies.

Many people believe Joeboy is inciting drunkenness, however, he refuted this claim in an interview with the internet platform Genius, stating that this was not his objective.

“Being tipsy inspired ‘Alcohol,'” he says. Life is full of numerous obstacles that never seem to end. Something needs to be fixed or solved at all times. I’m not advocating for alcoholism in any way, but I recognize that people need breaks. Trying to avoid one’s problems won’t solve them in the end.”

In response to the song’s popularity, he stated that it’s a step in the right direction for his sound, as it’s extremely special to him, especially given how large it’s become, and that it’s not the typical Joeboy sound.

According to him, he wanted to experiment with other sounds because he is known as a lover boy and has always performed love music.

“I was a little nervous before the song was released because I wasn’t sure if people would embrace it,” he added. It’s a complete departure from my usual routine. So far, the response has been fantastic. Since the beginning of my career, it has been my biggest charting single.”
