Sarkodie Opens Up About Dealing with Sadness and the Loss of His Lawyer

In a recent interview with Angela Yee on Way Up, Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie shared a side of himself that many hadn’t seen before. Known for his upbeat and positive attitude, Sarkodie revealed that he has never experienced sadness in his life. However, this changed when he faced the devastating loss of his lawyer, Cynthia Quarcoo.

Sarkodie explained that he is the type of person who always appreciates every situation, which is why sadness has never been a part of him. He stated, “I’m the type of person that can just move forward. I just appreciate whatever that’s happening looking at how I turned out to be and that’s what I care about.” This positive mindset has helped him navigate through life’s challenges.

The rapper’s sister, curious about his emotional state, recently sent him a text message asking if he has ever been sad. According to Sarkodie, his sister and others close to him had never seen him express sadness before. He admitted that he only shed tears recently due to the passing of his lawyer, Cynthia Quarcoo. This rare occurrence spoke volumes about the impact she had on his life.

Cynthia Quarcoo, a prominent figure in both the legal and entertainment industries, passed away at the age of 52. Beyond her legal profession, she played a significant role in nurturing and elevating local talent within the Ghanaian music scene through her talent management and public relations firm, Africa 1 Media. Her contributions to the industry were highly regarded, and her loss was deeply felt by many.

When news of Cynthia’s demise broke, Sarkodie took to social media to express his grief. He wrote a heartfelt message, stating, “So many memories, it’s going to be real hard to get over this. Mama Cee!! At least you should’ve told me you aren’t feeling well, but knowing you, I know you hate us feeling bad for you. You left exactly how you wanted (strong) – a classic Mama C.” Sarkodie’s emotional tribute showcased the special bond he shared with Cynthia and the impact she had on his life.
