IGP George Dampre is behind the secret recording that leaked – COP Mensah claims

The senior police officer whose voice was captured on a secret tape urging the dismissal of Dr George Akuffo Dampare as Inspector General of Police (IGP) has claimed that the recording was orchestrated by the IGP.

COP According to George Alex Mensah’s sources, the IGP prepared the recording that captured his voice and also planned its public distribution.

On the second day of his hearing before the parliamentary committee investigating the case, COP made the serious allegation against the IGP.

“My information suggests that the current IGP was the one who taped the conversation.” He delegated the task to others before going after it himself. So the recording, according to my information, is with the IGP, who forced it to be leaked. So, if the committee needs the tape, it should contact the IGP,” he stated.

The chairman of the committee had inquired about the location of the whole recording and whether COP Mensah possessed it, as he had stated numerous times in his evidence that the recording had been doctored.

That’s when COP Mensah mentioned that the IGP would be the best person to call.

“He caused it to be leaked, and if this committee wants the tape, the right person to call before this committee is the Inspector-General of Police,” he explained.
According to him, his assertion is more than just a belief, and he may even have proof that the IGP planned and distributed the tape.
