“I Wish Am Dead, We Sleep With Men To Feed Ourselves ” – Unposted Nurses Cries Out On Live TV
There have been several controversies in recent years regarding postings and allowances. Nurses complain about their working conditions and the treatment they receive.
Three nurses appeared on Onua TV to explain what had happened to them and how the police arrested some of them when they stormed their head office to express their displeasure with the postings.
The first person to speak stated that they graduated from nursing school in 2019. However, they have not been hired and have been unemployed for three years.
He went on to say that he and other colleagues were arrested by police after they were accused of causing disturbances. A bail requirement was met on their behalf, which set them free.
The female nurse was overcome with emotion and begged the government and the health minister to address their plight as soon as possible because the hardships were unbearable.
She responded to the host’s question about how they survive by saying that most of them let men sleep’ with them before earning anything.
“The human resource officer emphatically told us to wait for the passage of e-levy. He is now telling us to wait for the IMF negotiations to be completed and if it doesn’t affect employment we shall be posted. Some of our juniors who completed in 2020 have been posted while we sit home. I wish I am dead,” she concluded.
