“I will rather drop out of school than cut my dreadlocks”- Rasta Student speaks
Because of his dreadlocks, another Ghanaian student was refused entry to a Senior High School.
Selasi Yankee has been denied admission to Osei Kyeretwie Senior High School (OKESS) due to his religious beliefs.
If he isn’t able to go to school with his dreadlocks, the 19-year-old reveals he is considering dropping out for good.
Selasi Yankee was placed at OKESS by the Ghana Education Service (GES) electronic placement scheme, only to be refused entry by the school’s authorities because “school rules do not permit dreadlocks on campus,” according to the school’s website.
