‘I wasn’t in support of my son’s decision to do music’ – Big Ivy reveals
Big Ivy, also known as rapper CJ Biggerman’s “mother,” has revealed that she did not initially support her son’s choice of career.
Even though she had a passion for music before her son decided to pursue it, she saw it as an alternative option.
“I didn’t support his idea of doing music,” said Big Ivy. “I wanted him to have a Plan B, go to school, get to your limit, and then you can follow your passion,” she told Doreen Avio on Daybreak Hitz.
According to her, the youth tend to prioritize their passions in the arts over education.
Aside from education, she believes that one can then pursue a few additional skills to make a living.
She went on to say that, while education is important, it cannot be relied on entirely for survival.
During her time at university, Big Ivy revealed that she aspired to be a musician.
Years after finishing her tertiary education, she was unable to pursue her passion [music] because she needed to raise a family.
When one of her “children,” Christian Jojo Joshua, also known as CJ Biggerman, told Big Ivy that he wanted to be a musician, she realized that music was in her blood.
