I wanted to be a journalist aside from doing music – Kwesi Arthur reveals

Ghanaian rapper and Afropop artist Emmanuel Kwasi Danso, better known as Kwesi Arthur, has said that he wanted to be a journalist in addition to his music career.

According to Kwasi Arthur, he had always desired to attend university but was denied access to his WASSCE results from Tema High School due to debt.

“I wanted to register for the University of Ghana when I completed in 2012; I could not get into the university because my school fees were not paid so my results were blocked” he elaborated.

He did say, though, that after two years, a friend found out how to get to his results and gave them to him.

Kwasi Arthur went on to say that after seeing his outstanding grades, he wanted to enroll in the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) to pursue his journalism dreams, but he couldn’t afford the tuition.

“I was interested in journalism; I applied for GIJ but I backed out because I could not pay the fees so I decided to focus on music,” he reiterated.

“Human beings make plans and God laughs,” words of the globally known rapper as an indication of his unawareness back then of how things would work out and how music would bring him to stardom.
