Many people were taken aback by Ghanaian actress Kisa Gbekle’s story before she rose to fame in the Volta Region.
Kisa Gbekle has described how, due to the difficulties she faced in her community, she felt compelled to sleep with men in exchange for money or favors in order to support her family.
Kisa stated in an interview with Delay that she and her siblings come from a poor family and had to endure before they could have their daily food.
Growing up as the last of four children in the Volta Region before moving to Accra for a better life wasn’t easy.
As a result, she was forced to sleep with men in exchange for favors or her family would go hungry.
As she explained how she became a prostitute, the actress stated that she first became one at the age of 15. When an 18-year-old man sexually assaulted her, she took action that resulted in a police investigation.
According to her, the boy was detained, but the police eventually dropped the case, and it was resolved between the parents at home.
Kisa enrolled in a film school after moving to Accra to pursue her acting career. The rest, as they say, is history. Venus Film Production hired her as a secretary, and the rest, as they say, is history.
In the same interview, it was confirmed that, despite becoming a household name, Kisa still works as an ashawo, which is why she underwent plastic surgery.
