“I require protection” -Taxi driver who discovered and returned $50,000 claims he is being threatened.
An 18-year-old cab driver who recovered and returned large sums of money to a businesswoman has requested “maximum protection” after being threatened and mocked for his actions.
Some people assumed the young guy from Gbolor Dialla, near the Ivory Coast border, returned the life-altering money to the owner mistakenly.
His pals witness his car breaking down on the way. Their advice is to repay the enormous sum of money to Musu Yancy.
“They say I will never be wealthy because I returned so much money,” Emmanuel Tuloe told the BBC.
He had entrusted the money to his aunt to keep secure, only to hear the owner plead for its return.
The entrepreneur reportedly compensated Tuloe with money and gifts, including a mattress for his grandma.
But his friends and neighbors think the prize isn’t worth the extraordinary honesty he exhibited.
He described being threatened while at a party at Ms Yancy’s residence and having to flee for his life.
“I left and returned home because people were angry with me for returning the money and threatened me, so I need maximum protection right now.”
The Liberian Anti-Corruption Commission praised Tuloe’s actions, stating it was “deeply moved by the teenager’s
sincerity.”
A few friends have endorsed him and pushed him to be true.
