Wendy Shay, a Ghanaian artist, has revealed that she has removed all 15 of her body piercings in order to avoid being judged by others when preaching the gospel of the Kingdom of God.
People are judgmental, according to the RuffTown Records musician, so she removed her piercings to avoid being asked why she is living a different life while fulfilling her Kingdom mission as a representative in the earth world.
Wendy Shay said that it was a directive from God to help others to receive the gospel through her in an interview spotted by bestshowbiz.com, presented by Neat FM’s Ola Michael on Friday.
”I removed all the piercings from my ears and body because I realized when you’re preaching, people are judgemental; they don’t see the heart. And Bible says our lifestyle and appearance should match with the belief,” she said.
According to Wendy Addo, when she returned to Ghana from Germany, she was not a Christian, but her manager and founder of RuffTown Records, Bullet, brought her to the faith and a church.
”When I came to Ghana I didn’t know Jesus. I knew him at a young age but came to believe that he didn’t exist until I met Bullet and he introduced me to Jesus Christ and a church … It took a while for me to get closer to Jesus,” she said.
”It’s a decision I’ve taken to get closer to him,” the Uber Driver singer added.
