“I have really suffered in life, at a point I was sleeping on the streets with my 1 years old son”- Actress Ellen Asante (video)
Ellen Asante Korkor, an actress and entrepreneur, has revealed how she lived in Kumasi fifteen years ago after leaving her hometown of Nkawkaw.
According to her, she had an unplanned pregnancy at the age of seventeen, and as a result, she decided to leave her hometown and travel to Kumasi with her young son.
The actress, who rose to prominence as Afia Schwarzenegger in Delay’s TV series, added that the conditions she encountered in Kumasi when she arrived were not what she had expected.
Ellen revealed that she was forced to sleep in a kiosk with her son, who was only a year and six months old at the time because there was no suitable accommodation for her.
She went on to say that the woman she worked with at the time was the one who would occasionally take her son home to provide him with a safe place to sleep because she believed the boy was too young to sleep outside with his mother.
