Gamali Appau, the husband of a 40-year-old lady slain by armed robbers in a bullion van attack in Accra’s James Town, claims he has forgiven the perpetrators of the horrific act.
In a recent interview, Gamali Appau, the widower, described how his wife’s premature death affected him and stated he had forgiven the perpetrators.
“I do not know what to say.” I have lost something dear, and that is all I have to say. My wife would not return no matter how much I talk,” he told Ghanaweb.

Joyce Amankwa, Gamali Appau’s wife, was hit by a stray gunshot during the attack on the gold truck, which also killed Constable General Emmanuel Osei, who was accompanying the money-transporting bullion van.
Despite his loss, he stated that if his wife were still alive, she would urge him to forgive the murders.
“If my wife were still alive, she would beg me to forgive them, therefore I do. ‘I forgive them all, but they must repent,’ he replied.
