“I have forgiven the killers”- Husband of the woman who died in bullion van attack speaks
Joyce Amankwa, a 40-year-old lady killed by armed robbers in the bullion van attack in Accra’s James Town, has forgiven the perpetrators of the horrible crime, according to her husband.
Gamali Appau, the widower, said he has forgiven the killers after recounting what his wife’s premature death meant to him in a recent interview.
“I do not know what to say.” I have lost something dear, and that is all I have to say. My wife would not return no matter how much I talk,” he told Ghanaweb.
Joyce Amankwa, Gamali Appau’s wife, was hit by a stray gunshot during the attack on the gold truck, which also killed Constable General Emmanuel Osei, who was escorting the money-transporting bullion van.
Despite his loss, he stated that if his wife were still alive, she would ask him to forgive the perpetrators.
“If my wife were still alive, she would beg me to forgive them, therefore I do. ‘I forgive them all, but they must repent,’ he added.
