Comedic actor Funny Face opened up about his struggles with mental illness and his time spent in a mental institution.

After threatening to kill his baby mother and other people on social media, the stand-up comedian was taken to the Accra Psychiatric Hospital at the suggestion of a Kaneshie District Court.

The famous comedian told The Day Show’s Berla Mundi that he had a spiritual awakening and rekindled his relationship with God while he was in a psychiatric hospital.

“I encountered God when I went to Psychiatric and a mad man who had been there for 6 years told me my case was worse than his,” he revealed

After a week there, he claims one decisive moment altered the course of his life. “It was then I realized that I don’t belong here and I need to pray about it,” he recalled.

“Then again my manager came through for me. He is the only person who stood by me… We grew up together and he was telling me to be careful but i took it for granted but when life hit me…” he said.

Funny Face, who broke up with friends and mentors like Adebayor, Bola Ray, and Fadda Dickson after making derogatory comments about them online, stated he was sorry for what he did and has made up with the people he hurt.
