The Asante Kingdom’s monarch, Otumfuor Osei Tutu II, and Dormaahene Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu II, have dominated the media in recent weeks due to historical gaffes that have resulted in a back and forth banter.
The sequence of events astounded Ghanaians, who had never seen anything like it before, because the two venerated chiefs were on the verge of exchanging severe punches to end the toxic disagreement.
During the heated debate about who captured and ruled the other kingdom, Dormaahene took advantage of the chance to school Otumfour on some major events in both kingdoms’ histories.
Because no one dared to speak after the Asante overlord had spoken, this education from the Dormaahene was labeled as a terrible disrespect to Otumfuo.
However, a new video on Der Madking’s YouTube channel catches the moment Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu II did a sharp U-turn by dismissing accusations that he disrespected Otumfuo.
Dormaahene claims he has never disrespected Otumfuo and will never do so in this life or the next.
He stated, when speaking to a group of journalists, that he was merely trying to highlight some errors Otumfuo made while telling the history of the people of Dormaa.
According to Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu II,
“Otumfour Osei Tutu II who is the sole owner of Asanteman; our King, Your Majesty, once you sit on the Golden Stool with you large following, I will never speak against you. However, the truth remains the truth.”
