“I am poor, but i gave the prisoners money because at least i have freedom”- kind Street Hawker speaks

A traffic hawker who went viral after being photographed handing out food to convicts inside a correctional service truck has broken his silence.

Remember when he was observed around Lagos’ Ajah axis giving money to convicts being transferred in a truck?

His uncommon compassion attracted him to a large number of individuals on social media.

In a recent interview, he explained why he wanted to aid the convicts.

“I offered the convicts money out of sympathy,” he explained. Even tho I am extremely poor and sell pure water, I still have my freedom; I can eat anything I want and travel wherever I want, but the prisoners do not have that freedom.”
