“I am not the Devil”- Kidi reacts to Christians saying God made Diana Hamilton won (video)
KiDi, a Ghanaian musician, has expressed his dissatisfaction with how certain Christians have criticized him.
After Diana Hamilton won Artiste of the Year over him and others at the 2021 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, the composer of “Touch It” spoke out about the negative comments made by several Christians and Gospel singers.
KiDi declared that he is not Satan in an interview with Zionfelix.net on Hitz FM.
“You think you can beat ‘Adom’ with ‘Say Cheese,’ and I am like, am I the devil, am I the demon?” He was perplexed.
KiDi added: “e b work I dey work, I no kill person, we are people happy through our music.
“I always say that the majority of gospel musicians are the most hypocritical people. Yes, you are a Christian, but it does not make you any more righteous than I am. Similarly, the fact that I am practicing ‘Say Cheese and Enjoyment’ does not make me any less virtuous. “
“But today you want to put me on the chopping board and paint me as a demon.” He wondered why these Christians enjoyed his music at weddings.
“It is not right, it is not fair,” KiDi continued. “We do music to bring happiness to people, whether Gospel or Hip Life, Afrobeat. We share love through our music, so I am not like Satan.”
