Tragic Murder of County Chief Officer in Kenya
A shocking incident has shaken the community of Mnarani in Kilifi county, Kenya, as a 30-year-old county chief officer, Rahab Karisa, has allegedly been stabbed to death by her house help. The heartbreaking incident occurred on the morning of Thursday, July 20, 2023, after Karisa reportedly had a heated argument with the house help.
An autopsy conducted the following day at Kilifi county hospital revealed the extent of Karisa’s injuries. She had sustained a deep cut that had pierced through her artery and partially reached her lungs, causing her to bleed to death. The severity of this tragedy is further amplified by the fact that Karisa was set to celebrate her 31st birthday on Saturday, July 22.
Local authorities, led by Kilifi County police boss Fatuma Hadi, swiftly launched an investigation into the murder. Hadi confirmed the incident and assured the public that they are actively searching for the house help, who mysteriously vanished after the altercation. Despite the house help’s disappearance, the police remain optimistic about apprehending the suspect, as they claim to have obtained crucial leads.
Interestingly, Karisa had only recently returned from a trip to Italy on Wednesday, July 19. According to a private guard, the house help managed to escape by jumping over the perimeter wall when security officers from a private firm arrived for their morning duties. Shockingly, the house help also took the deceased’s child along while fleeing the scene.
Dispelling rumors and clearing confusion, Hadi emphasized that the body found hanging from a tree in Takauku is not that of the house help. The police have identified the deceased, ensuring that the focus remains on finding the suspect responsible for Karisa’s tragic death.
