The 24th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards nominees have once more been announced by Charterhouse and the VGMA organizers without Shatta Wale’s name.
Recall that the VGMA barred Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy in 2019 after their altercation on stage. Once the two reconciled, the ban was eventually lifted.
Stonebwoy expressed interest in the award program following the settlement, while Shatta Wale said on his Facebook page that he had no interest in the VGMA. Before Shatta Wale may participate in the ‘scam awards’ once more, his then-manager, Bulldog, also requested that the VGMA organizers extend an apology to him.
“Upon sober reflections on events in recent times and made broader consultations, I wish to announce that I will not be part of the Ghana Music Awards scheme going forward. God bless!” Shatta declared in his Facebook post when he officially parted ways with the VGMAs.
“Shatta Wale will not attend the VGMA until VGMA come to apologize to him. They have consistently disrespected Shatta. If he decides to join the scheme again, I will concentrate on farming that will mean my journey with him will come to an end”, Bulldog, then the manager of Shatta Wale also said.
He added; “He has been always overlooking the disrespect to support the culture but it won’t happen again until they apologize. They kept us in jail for a day for doing nothing, it’s sad and disrespectful,”.
