The headmaster of Chuho Primary School in Uganda has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for aggravated defilement.
Wilson, the school’s principal, has been sleeping with the victim since she was admitted.
Wilson Habiyakale, 39, was convicted on Friday after a successful prosecution that began with his arrest and subsequent arraignment in court in March of this year, when he was formally charged with defiling a 14-year-old primary seven pupil at the school he directed.
The head teacher would invite the victim into his office and use his authority to order her to remove her clothes, after which he would sleep with her while classes were in session.
When the students noticed her frequent visits to the principal’s office, he was arrested and charged in court.
He pleaded guilty and admitted to sleeping with the adolescent under his authority. He was found guilty and sentenced to 18 years in prison by the court. He admitted to sleeping with the victim for the past three years, and the victim is a primary school student.
