Ernest Opoku, a renowned gospel performer from Ghana, has pleaded with Ghanaians to refrain from being overly critical of gospel performers whenever a scandal arises.
Ernest Opoku believes that gospel musicians are not angels but rather flawed people, just like their detractors, and as a result, he finds it heartbreaking whenever they are criticized for actions taken regularly by secular musicians.
The Grammy-winning musician made this claim in an interview while discussing some controversy and strange news that surrounds him in the music business, particularly in regards to his on-again, off-again relationship with actress Nayas.
Ernest Opoku categorically stated in an exclusive interview with Sompa FM that people need to stop judging them because they are also people and not superhuman as many think.
“The problem with most Africans is that, they see we Gospel musician as Angels but that is not true, we are just like any other person of course we are humans”.
Ernest Opoku has admitted that he accepted a free “BJ” from an unidentified woman on one of his trips from Kumasi to Accra.
He claimed that he was taking the night VIP bus from Kumasi to Accra and that a stranger was sitting in the seat next to him.
After a while, the said woman began to nod off and tried to lean on me. He asked her to move, and eventually she chose to lean against the window.
Later, he made the choice to don his headphones and play some of Elder Mireku’s songs until he nodded off. He was sleeping when he suddenly felt movement around him. To his utmost shock, he awoke to find the woman holding his penis in her mouth, forcing him to scream the name of Jesus.
When asked if he enjoyed the performance, the musician responded that he was shocked and could only give her a firm pat on the back.
The woman’s sole defense for her actions, according to Ernest Opoku Jr., was that she thought she was dreaming and that she was sorry.
