“Ghanaians are not worth dying for, let’s stop the fix the nation Demo”- Okatakyie Afrifa Mensah
Fixthecountry movement member and radio cum television star Okatakyie Afrifa Mensah has encouraged his compatriots in the movement to take a step back and watch Ghanaians suffer since they are not people to fight for.
His remark comes after the Ghanaian police issued an injunction on their June 4th demonstration after they stated that they would walk around with their guns and weapons.
On his ‘Abranaa So’ show on TV XYZ, Okatakyie Afrifa Mensah addressed the matter, saying that he strongly believes that all of the convenors have done their best for the country and that it is time for them to step back and do things individually like it was before.
He claimed that Ghanaians have demonstrated over time that they enjoy being oppressed, and that this must continue.
He used the example of what happened lately in Appiate, in the Western Region, when a chemical explosion wiped out a whole population.
He also utilized the recent flood troubles plaguing the country to make the argument that, despite the amount of people dying every day, Ghanaians have failed to rise to speak truth to power, and that when people devote themselves to fighting for them, they turn around and fight against them.
As a result, he urged all of the movement’s leaders, including Oliver Barker Vormawor, Captain Smart, Avraham Ben Moshe, Felicity Nelson, and Nana Sheddy, to take a step back or, better still, look abroad rather than fighting for Ghana because they enjoy being oppressed.
