The New York Police Department is presently holding Anthony Erzuah, a Ghanaian resident of New York, for fatally stabbing his wife Monica Akua.
Reports state that the tragic incident took place on July 14, 2022, at at 10:51 a.m. as a result of a serious miscommunication between the dead and her detained husband, which ultimately resulted in an exchange of harsh insults.
After responding to the fatal 911 call at Tracey Towers, which is located at 40 West Mosholu Parkway South, New York Police officers detained the spouse.
When the police arrived, they discovered Monica Akua, 52, who was unconscious and lying in a pool of blood with a jack knife lodged in her stomach.
Emergency personnel transported Akua to Saint Barnabas Medical Center, where she was eventually pronounced dead.
Later, police arrested Anthony Erzuah, 59, and accused him with murder, manslaughter, and criminal possession of a weapon.
