The chiefs and elders of Nkoranza apprehended a young gay man who was allegedly engaged in homosexual activity this morning and ordered him to buy 24 sheep and schnapps to appease the gods.
Yaw Owusu, a young man in his twenties, was apprehended by some Nkoranza teenagers while having a sexual relationship with another man. H e was alleged to have been taken to the traditional council.
After they apprehended the gay man, Nana Adutwumwaa Dudaa Kanii, who also happens to be the Omanhemaa of Nkoranza Traditional Council, said that homosexuality is an abomination that will never be tolerated in the community.
He went on to say that anyone caught in the act would be forced to appease the gods with sheep and schnapps, in addition to the rites that would be carried out.
Nana Yaw, who admitted to being gay, was given the task of bringing twenty-four (24) white sheep and a box of schnapps for a ritual or face the gods’ wrath.
