Form two SHS student of Ofori Panin Senior High School dies after weeding punishment

A form two (2) student of Ofori Panin Senior High School (OPASS) in the Eastern Region has died, according to news reaching us.

Andrews Appiah Tinkorang alias Agabus, a General Arts student, died at Koforidua’s Eastern Regional Hospital after collapsing while serving a punishment.

According to Starr News, the student’s death has been linked to a weeding punishment meted out to him despite his poor condition.

The school’s administration, on the other hand, has refuted accusations that the youngster was forced to weed as punishment.

According to the school, the student’s phone was confiscated, and he was only instructed to gather dry leaves that had littered the surroundings as punishment due to his poor health.

According to management, the student had an abnormal growth around his neck and thus appeared sick, but his condition worsened and he became pale.

His father, a former student, was requested to drive him to the hospital.

He was apparently taken home by his parents, who live in Suhum, two weeks ago, but died three days later at the Regional Hospital in Koforidua.

The situation was investigated by the board members at a meeting held on Friday, and the board debriefed both the headmaster and the housemaster on the matter.
